We at Holy Name High School are celebrating our Platinum Jubilee this year. And we have come a long way, as our students move up the ladder of success. And this is only possible through the hardwork of the caring and skilled staff and the management, that is very supportive in all our endeavours.
It is truly said that Charles Darwin rocked the world with his astonishing theory of Evolution. And with so much of negativism and ills in society today, we need to believe in ourselves and our vision.
One needs to go beyond the everyday mundane classroom teaching by encouraging hidden talents in students to bring about classroom based acquisition of knowledge, application and assimilation of new knowledge.
This year many activities are being conducted in our school. The four houses of the IX – X standard students debated on topics like “Happy Days Ahead” and “Democracy The Best Form Of Government”.
The VII – VIII standard students debated on topics like “C.C.E system of Education in India” and “Are Mobile Phone Necessary”. Through this they are able to update their knowledge, reason think and sharpen their skills at the same time.
The students learn through debates & experts as what to do & what not to do. They also learn to work as a team & how to come together to deliver their best performance.
The morning assemblies are worth listening to and is a learning for all. On Parents’ Day they made cards for their parents. The sweet words, thoughts & ideas did sweeten their relationships between parents and children and between the teachers and students.
The other activity like ‘ Drop Everything And Read’ in Marathi for std V – VIII students, was very interesting. Their innovative topics were worth listening to and it had a lot to learn from. The ‘Spell bee’ Competition for V & VI standard students, was very good and it gave them the thrill to spell new words too.
We also had a talk for the P.T.A members, so that they can be of help to the school. The football team of Holy Name is also gearing up for the game. We see students taking a keen interest in carrom and chess and many other indoor and outdoor games.
All these activities help children to be focussed, engaged and happy. It promotes an innovative approach to learning, creativity and a way of thinking in all aspects. And finally it is hassle free for both parents and fun for the child to keep worries at bay and to bring harmony to life. And the only way to do great work is to love what we do.
