House System

The House System has been given much importance in our school.

The element of competition is an incentive to better work; it makes for a greater interest in and enthusiasm for any activity undertaken. Besides it teaches the children to understand the working of a democratic set up.

RED HOUSE: Saint Aloysius of Gonzaga (9.3.1568 – 21.6.1591)

Virtue – Purity.

Saint Aloysius was born in an Italian noble family. He joined the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) while he was very young. Aloysius happily served the victims of a serious epidemic, which later resulted into his departure from this earthly life. On June 21,1591.Aloysius was canonized on December 31, 1726.

Quote: – “It is better to be a child of God, than king of the whole world.’’

YELLOW HOUSE: Saint Dominic Savio (2.4.1842 – 9.3.1857)

Virtue –Humility

Saint Domnic Savio was an Italian adolescent student of Saint John Bosco.He displayed heroic virtue in his age groups and lived a holy life. He was studying to be a priest when he became ill and died at the age of 14, possibly from pleurisy. He is noted for his faith and devotion. Dominic Savio was canonized on June 12,1954.

GREEN HOUSE: Saint Therese of Lisieux (2.1.1873-30.9.1897)

Virtue – Love

Saint Therese of Lisieux is also known as ‘Therese of the Child Jesus’ or ‘Therese of the Holy Face.’ She was born on January 2, 1873 to Marie and Louis Martin. While still young, Therese entered the Carmelite Monastery (where her sisters were) overcoming various obstacles at the age of 15.She had a great devotion to the Child Jesus. Therese practised the virtues of humility, simplicity and a firm confidence in God. She offered her pain and suffering for the salvation of souls. This Saint is the Patron Saint of the Missionaries. Therese is also popularly known as ‘The Little Flower of Jesus’: Saint Therese died on September 30,1897 and was canonized on May 17,1925.

BLUE HOUSE: Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta (26.8.1910 – 5.9.1997)

Virtue – Kindness

Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu, an Albanian Indian was born on August 26, 1910, in Macedonia. Mother Teresa is commonly known as ‘Mother Teresa of Calcutta.’ Saint Teresa joined the Sisters of Loretto in 1928 and then left for her first trip to India in 1929 and taught in India for 17 years. Mother Teresa experienced her ‘call within a call’, in 1946, where Jesus’ thirst for love and for souls took hold of her heart. She devoted her life to caring for the sick and the poor. Mother Teresa founded the new Congregation in 1950 namely, ‘The Missionaries of Charity.’ She was a person of unshakable faith, invisible hope and extraordinary charity. Mother Teresa died on September 5 , 997 and was canonized on September 4, 2016.
